November is a great month to visit Pattaya this year. Besides the always memorable Loy Krathong Festival, Pattaya will be hosting the Rolling Loud Music Festival from November 22 to 24, and the Pattaya International Fireworks Festival from November 29 to 30.

Pattaya Loy Krathong Festival
Ground zero for Loy Krathong is along Pattaya Beach, as the city hosts the Loy Krathong Festival. For first-time visitors to Thailand, Loy Krathong, also known as the “Festival of Lights,” is something that must be experienced. It’s one of Thailand’s most beloved observances, practiced by people all over Thailand on the evening of the twelfth full moon of the Thai lunar calendar. This year, the date of the Loy Krathong Festival is November 15.
The main part of the festival is the floating of “krathongs”, small handmade rafts made of cross-sections of banana plants and leaves. These krathongs are decorated with flowers and candles and contain tokens of a person’s hopes for the coming year. The krathongs are floated out on Pattaya Bay as an offering that leaves the past year behind and hopes for good luck and prosperity in the year ahead.
The sight of thousands of people floating their candle-lit krathongs all along Pattaya Beach is a remarkably beautiful and memorable sight.
Rolling Loud Music Festival
Next up in November is the Rolling Loud Music Festival from November 22 to 24. The festival will be held at The Legend Siam, a 220-rai theme park located near Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Bang Saray. This is billed as the world’s largest hip-hop music festival and has an amazing line-up of over sixty world-renowned artists performing during the three days of the festival.
The festival kicks off at 3 PM every day and runs until midnight. A three-day pass from Ticketmelon starts at THB 14,600, or THB 23,400 for a VIP pass, and a one-day ticket starts at THB 6,000 or THB 9,500 for a VIP pass. The headline acts will include:
- Friday, November 22: A$AP Rocky
- Saturday, November 23: Lil Wayne
- Sunday, November 24: Playboi Carti
The best way to get to The Legend Siam from Pattaya is to use Bolt or Grab or get a group of friends together and rent a car. Renting a car is particularly preferable if you’re attending all three days of the festival.
Pattaya International Fireworks Festival
Capping off the month of November is the Pattaya International Fireworks Festival from November 29 to 30. The fireworks will be set off from three barges moored in Pattaya Bay and can easily be seen from all along Pattaya Beach, where there’s certain to be a crowd gathered.
The fireworks will start at 7 PM and run until about 10 PM. The festival along the beach will also include music, cultural performances and plenty of delicious street food.
For a more panoramic view of the colorful fireworks, consider a hike up to the Big Buddha on Pratumnak Hill. You’ll be able to see the length of Pattaya Bay along with the fireworks. It may be the best view for people who want to get some memorable pictures of the event.
Wonderfruit Festival in December
If you’re unable to get to Pattaya during the month of November, there is still the Wonderfruit Festival to look forward to in December. This annual festival of art, music, culture and nature takes place December 16 to 22, and is held in The Fields of Siam Country Club just outside of Pattaya.
